Burda Style For people who sew

Description

This is dress was inspired by a sketch in a 1950’s sewing book. The chapter was on “Hiding the dart” and I learned how to cut the stripes to ensure a perfect fit. This dress It features a classic and flattering boat-neck with a zip closure. Th blue stripes are made out of a reclaimed Japanese import fabric, and the white stripes are made out of a lovely eyelet. The top (shoulder) stripe of white fabric is unlined for a fun flash of skin The other white stripes are fully lined. The bodice features cute cap sleeves and a gathered skirt. This dress was upcycled from someone’s fabric collection.

I designed and drafted this pattern and stitched this dress with love. It is made out of repurposed materials : )
