I had this dress I found at a sample sale a few years ago that had permanent marker all over the top half of the dress. The fabric was too nice and the color too great to not keep. Years later I finally made use of it.
I cut the destroyed top half of the dress off leaving enough of the bottom half for a knee length skirt. I used elastic for the waistband and since there was enough fabric I made it a “paper bag” style waistband.
