I have two linen suits , beautiful, but the tops have always been too tight under the arms. They were both like the brown one in the picture. I cut the armholes bigger and put contrasting bias on the raw edge, then added floaty sleeves and a waist band, all in the same contrasting striped linen fabric. The whole business was pretty fiddly, especially as I had never used bias binding, let alone made my own before! I’m pretty pleased with the result and I now have a top I can use both with it’s matching skirt, but also other trousers.
Striped linen fabric. Bias binding made of the same material.
Leopard and snakeskin are the new neutrals.
