Description
My son asked me Monday night to make him a steampunk costume for Thursday, 2 days to make it from scratch. I brought a mans wool jacket, cotton shirt and belts from the charity shop for £6. First I removed the sleeves and shoulder pads and bound them with bias binding, I took in the side seams, shaped the front and took up the back . I moved the buttons over so the jacket did up on the side , added belt fasteners on front and put two button holes in other side to thread a belt through. added a few extra bits. Made him a pair of goggles from swimming goggles , leather, torch , old watch front and a spice jar lid. I also made torch from things found around the house

It’s awesome! When your son is done with it, can you sent it to me? :-)

Fabulous costume. I really hope he appreciates all your effort, and I’m glad my sons don’t read this site and so won’t find out what effort some mums put in. I’ve told mine I only sew for ME. :-)
