Fort Mc Murray, ...
First submitted project, here we go!
A bit of background info, I started sewing in December of last year (2012) after I experienced a very bad break up and needed to take up something to fill up my spare time and keep me from brooding. I taught myself how to sew through watching Youtube videos. Most of my first attempts at sewing were completely unwearable. XD This skirt was the first project I could actually wear, so I did get better! :)
Ok, so this skirt was made in the Dark Ages before I had a sewing machine and I had to sew everything by hand, and I have to say that for a handsewn attempt (and my first attempt at drafting a pattern) that this did not turn out bad at all. I made it by cutting up one of my Dad’s old sweaters (that no longer fit him) and the end result had to be resized, but once I resized it it fitted well and I was able to wear it out. :) Yay!
Made from an old, recycled sweater.
