I bought an 80’s style suit jacket from the thrift store (shoulder pads and all) and cut the lower portion off. I gathered the lower section and reattached it to the top portion. Before doing so, I took the jacket in a bit (probably 1.5 inches on each side and I opened up the side panels to make the top portion work with the newly gathered bottom portion. I added the silk lining fabric to the sleeves only and added a new button (the old one was gold and tacky). Ta-da!
