Ouidah, Benin

I was very excited to start the Colette Hawthorn, but then picked a fabric I wasn’t in love with and received a care package with a ton of new fabric and patterns that distracted me, so I admit I dragged my feet with this project, but the sewalong deadline helped a lot in motivating me to finish. It was fun following the sewalong and I’ll definitely use certain tips for my next Hawthorn (such as the wide shoulder adjustment) – with a better fabric!

I wrote more in my sewing journal here:

Your shoulder looks pretty perfect, I wouldn’t widen it more then 1 cm. The extra fabric needs to come out across the bust- If you extend the line under the arm ( that curves around the armhole ) about 2cm front and back it should do the trick.

You can join it to the waist or widen it the whole way down if you prefer.

I think your amazing living over there and doing what your doing, and I love that pattern ( I’ve ordered it ), it’s gorgeous! nice job
