This is my first attempt at a quilt. I have absolutely no quilting knowledge what-so-ever, so it was a kind of ‘learning by doing’ experience!
I wanted to make something nice for a friend who is about to have her first baby. I made it as unisex as possible as she does’n’t know what she is having and I wanted it to be suitable for a few children any way.
I probably should have chosen an easier pattern. Sewing the L shaped pieces wasn’t as straight forward as I thought it would be, and I only realised this AFTER I had cut out all of my shapes! Got there in the end though.
It is far from perfect, but I am pretty pleased considering it was my first attempt. I definitely felt I was improving with each block I sewed.
Quilting cotton, cotton thread, cotton wadding.

I can’t believe you’d never quilter before! That look’s so complicated. I’ve never qulited either. I’ve been much too intimidated to try. haha

Wonderful, Beautiful, Awesome!!!! What an ambitious pattern for a first quilt but you absolutely nailed it. I find quilt making fun and challenging at the same time but I have learned a lot about sewing through quilting. Great job and the baby will love it as will mommy. Happy Sewing!!!
