I made this hooded dress for a UK meet-up of sewers! It’s from a 1940 pattern and I must say that I really, really love this pattern! It has princess lines in the front and back. The princess lines in the back create a great soft pleating effect. The pockets are partially lined with contrast fabric flaps and the hood is also lined. The dress closes with buttons down the front. It’s a perfect dress for UK weather :) and I think in the Autumn I might even wear it as a coat!!

This is completely adorable! My favourite is the back view – the pleats give it such a great shape. I would love to make a coat like this.

Thank you so much! I was really happy with the lining fabric! Such a fun detail and you can’t really tell what it is until you are close up! Love that!
