I found the Estelle bag pattern by fashion1 a fantastic pattern to use and easy to adapt. I made a bag for my mum using some Liberty fabric I had stashed away, and used the wrong side of some dyed velvet for the lining.
I changed the handles to suit the strange way my mum carries her handbags. :D On the front of the bag, I sewed on a few charms of my nan’s and used some gold fabric paint to highlight the horns and eyes of the unicorns/seahorses on the print.
I would really recommend this pattern and many thanks to fashion1 for making such a novice-friendly and useful bag with such clear instructions.
