I started working on this quilt a year ago. And never finished it, it seems that my inspiration dried out. Its current dimenstions are approximately 1m x 1m (the widest parts of the quilt). The problem I had was its octagon shape, and I wanted it to be rectangular when finished (the final dimensions should be 1,60m x 2,00m). I simply had no idea what to do with this octagon and how to fit it within a rectangle shape. It would be petty to leave it unfinished, since I like the design very much. Any idea, anyone? LAST EDIT: I added one more image (fifth in a set), with two ideas how to finish this quilt – both provided by Olya_Boieru (member of the site). I think I’ll use the first one. LAST EDIT: Inspired by Olya’s suggestions, I made a sketch for my quilt (image 6 in a set).

Hvala puno!

This IS a piece of art! And the colors are so bright and cheerful! I have never seen something like this before and didn’t know it’s called quilting. But if there was a painting or composition I design, my idea would be to make like triangular orange-red frames, like this ^, from 4 parts so that to finish left and right sides from upper and bottom so to create a rectangular form! Does it make any sense? If you are interested in my idea I can try to paint it and send you by email.

I’m so sorry you are uninspired right now. Hopefully you’ll get your mojo back. This quilt is stunning.

Wow, that’s an awesome piece of work! I never knew what Quilting is and I’m not sure how you do this in the end? But it must’ve been a lot of work!
