Description

These two merino wool tops were made by sewing together coordinating colours of lightweight merino wool jersey from The Fabric Store here in Sydney. The blue, cream and orange one is my favourite, and really shows the unconscious influence of my husband and children’s TV viewing on my sewing (Giro d’Italia + Lazytown). The orange and cream one is less well executed so gets less wear, but came from the same stripe idea and colour fixation – and uses the same pattern, #106 from Burda 02/2011 (made 1 size down from my usual size). Although the pattern is an easy one, there was a bit of a challenge in constructing even stripes that are properly horizontal (or vertical) from very stretchy fabric.

The tops are both blogged here.

Thank you! I think I’m addicted to making tops – but that’s not a problem, is it :)
