Burda Style For people who sew
Description
I used the Tara draft and made it longer into a mini dress for a friend. I found the most beautiful vintage silk fabric that has already ceased production. I was a bit apprehensive of the fabric at first but I think now, I’m more than convinced I made a good risk with it. I was inspired by a couture dress from Chanel’s Spring 2008 showcase of ripped chiffon sewn onto dresses and I decided to adapt a bit of it into the dress. I binded everything with satin bias tape.
The fit of the bust and the sleeves are really odd so I had to make 2 prototypes in muslin cloth before proceeding onto the actual fabric.

It’s Beautiful. I’ve read many comments from other people about the Tara pattern and surprisingly, many dislike flutter sleeves! I don’t get it, I adore them and yours are especially lovely with the trim that you’ve added! If you get any photos of someone wearing this dress, please add them :).
