We wanted to see the Men’s Summer Shirt pattern in a short sleeved version and when we found this fun cotton fabric we got right to work!
The fabric has two sides that are good so we decided to alternate the two sides on the shirt. We sewed the sleeves so the inside of the fabric is folded up and is visible on the front, we did the same with the button placket. Instead of folding it to the inside we folded it to the outside, making the backside of the fabric visible.
We only made one pocket skipped the pocket flap and made a similar detail on the pocket as with the sleeve and button placket. We also skipped the collar and used only the collar stand, which we narrowed down a bit.
For the back, we added 2" all along the center back to get a slightly looser fit with a pleat.
The pattern is really good and has a great fit!
