With just my old sewing machine, it never made any sense to me to view anything in jersey as a quick, easy, instant gratification type of project. With my new sewing machine and my serger however, things are different. I’ve had this fabric in my stash for a year (I sometimes bought jersey when I found nice prints or colours sold cheaply, but sewed very little of it) and decided to sew it up mainly because I found out when clearing out my wardrobe that I really need some more not-black tops. The top is a very easy pattern from an old Burda (about two years old but I can’t check because I gave the magazine to my sister). The dress is my own design. A very simple sleeveless fitted dress with cowl neck.
jersey (I think it's some kind of rayon blend)

I am not one to wish for a new machine model, but I have to say your jersey creation is absolutely wonderful! Think it is more than the machine, tho’, possibly the talent gained the confidence believing the machine & serger were the magic! seasidelaundry (Beatrice)

You always make such beautiful pieces. Having a new sewing machine and serger must be great, all those new projects. The website you posted is wonderful I am sure a lot of other members would be interested in it, especially TudorRose69 as she is looking for any vintage literature I think. Maybe a post on the forum would be a good idea. Keep up the lovely sewing. Jude

Very nice pieces. I particularly like the dress, the neckline is so nice. I think this will be one of my next projects once I have finished the ones I am working on at the moment (and maybe once I have finished my thesis on which I am working on at the moment ;-) ). I just love these jersey dresses, so comfortable.
