I made the twisted tank in cotton as a wearable “muslin”.
My dimensions are 34-30-40 so I cut a 36 and graded to a 38 hip. The top fit too loose at the bust, but was perfect for the hips, so next time I’d cut a smaller size and keep the hip dimension.
I found that the back of the neck gaped due to my straight shoulders, so I added a dart at the back of the neck. Next time I would adjust for straight shoulders. I bound the outer layer with binding cut cross grain, but just hemmed the inner layer. I also neglected to snip the bulk out of the inside corners (bottom of neck and armholes) so they puckered up alot, but with the pattern and looseness it is not really noticeable. I didn’t use any stay tape on the neck and shoulders due to the fabric weight and it seemed alright. Maybe it would help the twisty shoulders to lie flat?
I am very much liking this pattern. The instructions for the inside-out part were not very clear, but I figured it out in the end.
This classic autumn collection has designs inspired by the Scottish countryside.
