I made a little black dress for our company christmas dinner… but it was really an exercise in pattern construction. I wanted to learn how to make a bodice with a draped twist on one shoulder.
I managed with the help of Pattern Magic, Vintage Sewing-Info and just trying it out in different ways by making little 1/4-size patterns… loads of fun! In the end I moved all darts to the shoulder and converted them into a drape instead of darts.
More information about the dress and how I made the pattern at Ancien-Nouveau and here .

It looks great! The twist is beautiful and neat, and really gives a simple dress that little extra. I like the red belt and also the neckline on the other shoulder, does that follow the neck for a bit?

It is beautiful! Especially with the belt. Usually I prefer symmetrical clothes, but here i like the twist at one shoulder.
