I loved my first maxi dress so much, I made a winterized version. The dress is just so effortlessly chic, and it has gone from non-maternity to maternity so well as my baby bump has grown over the past few months.
This time around I modified the top so that it would fit the Sewaholic Renfrew sleeve (you can read how I did that here on my blog), and I chopped off a whole bunch of length so that it would fall above my knee. I ended up cutting off too much length though, but I saved the dress by adding a solid black hem band to the bottom. I actually really love the accidental hem band. I don’t think the dress would be the same without it, so I’m thankful that I mismeasured!
I love this dress, and I plan on getting a lot of use out of it during the rest of my pregnancy. Since the pattern is actually not meant to be a maternity pattern, I also think I’ll get a bunch of wear out of it well into the future!
