Description

I made this from a soft, swishy cotton that I bought at Wal-Mart on clearance! I made it without a pattern, basically just following Gertie’s gathered skirt tutorial. (I’ve linked to part 1, but there’s also a part 2 on the site.)
Anyway, I love how swishy it is and how it’s not so short my bum hangs out! This will definitely get some wear.
I used a yard and a half of fabric, and cut it down the fold it came with. I cut a little bit off of each side to use as a waistband. My zipper is an 8 inch zipper from Mood NYC (50 cents a zipper!!!) and I did not use a hook and eye (my zipper goes all the way to the top). I gathered it with a wide stitch and a high tension.

Material Notes

I used cotton but really any fabric could be suitable!
