I started making this skirt from the directions on the Martha Stewart website but quickly realised the instructions were for a short tutu, not for the skirts displayed on the show. I googled for some other instructions and ended up winging it, which worked out well. I’ve made another for my niece (also in organza which I don’t recommend) and one for a friends daughter in tulle, and started getting a few tentative requests (one from my 30 y.o. sister!) for more.
Edit: I had the flu last week and my brain was taking a holiday – that should have been Martha Stewart.
Despite many hours of searching I couldn’t find any nylon chiffon, so I went with organza for the body of the skirt, which looks gorgeous but took a lot of time to edge finish.
Poly satin for the waistband.
