From the book “Twinkle Sews”.
This dress is sort of complicated to sew.
Meaning, I think most everything in this book is gotta-have-it cute, but it requires a lot of “creative interpretation” when it comes to directions.
So intermediate to advanced sewing experience is highly suggested.
Specifically, the side-front bust piece is a pain in the derriere to sew, so might want to practice first.
Sew Very Prairie has an excellent blog article on it: http://sewveryprairie.blogspot.com/2010/02/twinkle-sews-next-big-thing-dress.html
Like her, I also opted to not use an elastic at the front waistband, and I also didn’t sewn down the lining completely inside.
Light-weight cotton.
Definitely use something that will be easy to sew and holds shape-crisp corners and precise sewing is key for this one.
