I’ve found this project in the brand new “Twinkle Sews” book and decided to try it. It turned out great! Pretty flowing and light. Easy to make like this book said. I’ve substituted rivets for buttons since I don’t have a rivet machine.
2 yards of Chiffon Polyester Fabric 1 yard of lining 8 gold buttons

It does look pretty on you. I got this book from the library and quite confused by the sizes. If you don’t mind, can you tell me the relative sizing between Ready To Wear sizing and the book sizing. I.e. do sizes correspond 1 to 1, and if not how to determine the sizes?

Thank you for the compliment. :) Normally I wear a size 6 but this book doesn’t include size 6. In most cases, I’d go for size 4 but can make it a size 6 by adding a 1 inches on seam allowance. It doesn’t really correspond 1 to 1 since it comes in only five sizes – 0, 4, 8, 12, and 16. I suggest you to look up page 11 and 12 that will explain sizes. Which project are you going to make?

Looks great! I am trying to sew “dark secrets” right now. I do not understand the balloon sleeve instructions. It says to “Fold the rectangular sleeve piece in half, wrong sides together, aligning to the diagonal lines on the pattern…” What diagonal lines are they referring to?

Honestly, I had to figure it out on my own because some of the instructions can be tricky. I’m not sure what other word for diagonal line but I can give you a picture of what it looks like. For instance, you fold a paper in half perfectly and both sides look exactly same. Then you slide one side forward and both sides arent in the exactly same places. Use that method on the sleeves. So the sleeves can look uneven and bubbly. I apologize for the extremely delay response! Let me know how your project goes.

Thank you for the compliment! I have made more projects from this book like Origami Top, Skyline Skirt, and Between the Lines Top. I’ll take the pics and post them in my studio soon.
