I made this Twilight Sparkle costume for my four-year-old daughter for this Halloween. (She’s a HUGE My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fan). I used Butterick 3238 (which is a great pattern to use for so many kids’ costumes). I added a mane and tail made from yarn, a three-dimensional nose and ears stuffed with poly fill, and giant Anime-style MLP-FIM eyes crafted from felt and some scraps of fake leather. The horn is made from some lightweight cardboard and bias binding. While my daughter is disappointed that her horn doesn’t actually perform magic (kids have high expectations), I think it turned out amazing. You can read more about it on my blog My Beau Baby
