Burda Style For people who sew
Description
This is my second go at the Jenny skirt using a pink/purple tweed I picked up for about £10 in the remnant section.
There is a reason behind the pink line detail, it wasn’t intentional!
I was trying to squeeze the pattern pieces onto my remnant piece, and was worried they wouldn’t fit. I was concetrating so hard on getting them to fit I completely forgot to put the front piece on the fold, and cut it in two pieces!
The front pink piece therefore had to be put in to make the front skirt piece the right width, or i would have lost 3cm to seam allowance! I actually really like the detail, and even had enough left from the hemming of the skirt (I wanted it a little shorter than the normal Jenny skirt) to add a bow to tie it all in.
I plan to wear this out to my ‘birthday tea’ next week at the Pelham hotel in London, so I’ll try and post some pics!
