I made this version of BurdaStyle Magazine 02/2011 #118 dress in a medium weight cotton wool fabric. The instructions on the magazine where very precise about how to sew the kimono sleeves, what was really helpful and made the process quite easy. The front pockets are lined in a turquoise/white polka dot cotton.
medium weight cotton wool fabric, cotton for pockets lining, matching invisible zipper

I’m so sorry that maybe I’m being daft but…my friend and I are about to make this dress and I can’t for the life of me find the instructional section on kimono sleeves! Where is it please? By the way, the dress looks gorgeous and I’m very excited to make it now!

Thanks!
I found those instructions on the paper magazine (Burda Style Magazine 02-2011). On the spanish issue (which I used) they are on p. 84 and 85. I hope it helped!

I want to make this even more now. I was planning to make it out of a gabardine close in colour to the shirt the model is wearing with the grey skirt, but I have a fabric close to this turquoise in the stash that might be an even better option. Thanks for the inspiration!

Stunning color, you look so mod and chic! Much better then in the magazine, I agree. really nice job, you look like a Marc Jacobs model!

I didn’t like the dress in the magazine, but here it looks just like that casual – but classic – dress I have been looking for! Nice work
