I was recently inspired by a great vintage petticoat that I found at a local goodwill. It was sheer and lacy on top, so much so that I actually thought it would make a beautiful skirt! After a close review of the construction, and a small excavation through my stash of vintage lace, I went out to the local fabric store and got the rest of the stuff I needed to make my own.
Black Tulle, Black lace Ivory lace, Ivory netted tulle, 2 different sizes of satin ribbon, material for petticoat

Ok I added directions BUT they are totally not the best :( It’s so hard to describe. I had a hard time, but if you have any questions at all feel free to harrass me. I seriously don’t mind! Lol. Since I didn’t use a pattern it may seem complicated but I promise it’s not that hard. Sorry, this was the first time I explained a DIY. I had no idea how complicated it is to actually write out direction! Kudos to all you pattern makers out there. Good luck! Post pics if anyone makes one. I would love to see it :) <3 L

Oh goodness, isn’t this absolutely lovely?! Valentino had a skirt with this kind of asymmetric feel, black, tulle and lacy all over. So pretty!

Thanks! I will google it :) I’d love to see it. Nina Garcia tweeted this today “prabalgurung showed a lady with an edge. Lace is clearly a new trend for the season as well as the tuxedo look”
I was sooooo excited! Means this look is totally current. hopefully I can get the DIY instructions up tomorrow! <3 L

Thanks ladies! I added a tuxedo style vest as the top. It’s black with satin ivory trim along the edges. I finished the waist by binding it with the same thick ribbon I used behind the lace on the skirt and adding a button closure. I plan on adding instructions on how to DIY sometime this weekend or Monday so look out for that. Glad you like it :) Final look http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?fbid=197551826937289&set=pt.134648839894255&theater
