Description

i used the marie pattern to make a tulip skirt because i’ve been dying to try one. i added inside pockets to the last pleat and i made a lining because my fabric was a wee bit sheer.

however, i’m short, and when i shortened it to my length it became a little too poofy and turned into a bubble-esque skirt rather than tulip. i like it anyway :]

i also accidentally cut out the back piece of the pattern upside down..teehee.

hey sorry this took me forever and a half to respond about the shape!

when it comes to a tulip skirt, the side shape just goes out at the hips and slim at the legs. i’m not sure if that helps at all, but you kind of just have to like do a lot of trial and error or find one in a store and check out how its made.

i love this! i’m making my own tulip skirt right now but i’m a bit stuck – my skirt doesn’t have the right shape. i’m guessing i need to do something to the very bottom hem but i have no idea what – could you possibly tell me what you did to make yours get its shape?

i practically squealed when i saw this fabric. that is so cute i think the shape of the skirt really mimics the shape of the pears nicely. good on you!
