Burda Style For people who sew
Description
I made this from some pink taffeta which I had left over with a few years from a previous dress. I added some brown lace to the bodice, as I thought it looked too plain in just pink , and I needed something glam for a wedding.The pattern is from Burda Style Magazine 08/210 – The black tulip dress.

It’s really comfortable to wear – the pockets are a lovely touch. The lining was dropping a little – as the taffeta is stiff and stands out a little from the body – if I was making it again I would shorten the lining slightly. As it was I just used a few small hand stitches to pull the lining up slightly towards the waist on the inside.

A cute and pretty piece, with a great touch of carrying off the theme using the clutch bag. Your decision to add the lace has given it that extra glamour.

I thought I’d seen this somewhere before. It’s still lovely though. I really love that pattern, and it’s wonderful in taffeta, one of my all-time favourite fabrics!
