truffle without ruffle?

Colette Patterns Sewing Handbook – truffle dress. I made this with out the asymmetrical design as the eyelet fabric has lots of texture. I use a rayon light green lining. The modification made was to add lining to the skirt section of the dress. In the original pattern the lining is only from the bodice.

I got the eyelet material on a trip to dress sew in Vancouver. Fun trip . I did make the skirt longer as I can be taller with heels and its more office appropriate. I like this pattern so will make another for the fall. I do recommend this book because it has shown me how to make things for myself. I only wish I could spend more time in my sewing room.

Material Notes

Eyelet cotton fabric for shell. Lining is rayon. Regular zipper this time sewn with invisible zipper method.

Thank you very much. I have worn this dress once a week to the office since I made it. It’s light weight in the heat & easy to press! I will scout more eyelet material for next summer.
