Yay! The bustier makes me smile. It’s Burda Magazine pattern #127 and I made it out of a scrap of vintage Hawaiian tropic-colored fabric that I had left over from hemming a friend’s dress. I lined it in black cotton and added coil boning just to the side seams for a little extra support. It’s a great pattern and really fun to construct.
The gigantic circle skirt with high waistband is an original pattern I made from scratch. The paper pieces were so large that instead of cutting a half circle, I had to use quarters and cut them on the fold. The waistband is about 3 1/2" wide and interfaced for some standing power. Next round, I’ll use hair canvas interfacing – it’s even stiffer! There’s an invisible side zipper for closure. It’s semi-sheer striped 100% polyester. I’ll also make sure to buy enough fabric to cut it on the bias – that would’ve looked fun with the striping action.
