Bright, tropical halter top that ties with a skinny, black, satin ribbon. Bright pink background with a large print of colorful birds, tropical flowers, and black & white feather designs.
This was created from a mu-mu type swimsuit cover-up that I found at a thrift store and fell in LOVE with the print & colors. I thought to myself, “I just KNOW I can make a hot tank or halter for summer out of that!” I think it cost $0.50, which makes it ever more fabulous!
I made it to wear out to dinner with a group of good friends tonight, from my own pattern that was inspired by scarf tops and dresses that are so hot right now. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out – I’m so proud!
The fabric is rayon and it was cut on the bias, which gives it even more flowy movement. The cut and style is very forgiving in the belly area as well! Can’t wait to show it off tonight!
Rayon mu-mu purchased at a thrift store.
My inspiration for the actual type of top was tanselif’s scarf dresses – beautiful!

Thanks guys! I received a ton of compliment on it when I wore it out last night. If this fabric came on a bolt, I would’ve bought 10 yards of it, I love it so much!
