Description

Trench in waterproof cotton.

I changed a few things – I didn’t care for the yokes so I borrowed the ones for the front from one of the other versions of this coat from the magazine and just redrew the back yoke. I used a 42 but took out some ease and did a narrow shoulder adjustment all in one by cutting along the grainlines and overlapping them for a total of 2" taken out of the circumference. Obviously I made a muslin after these changes :) And I left out the piping and made it shorter.

Gorgeous! Several of us are about to do a sew along and I am thinking of using this pattern. I only have 3 yards of fabric so I need (AND WANT TO) make it shorter.

Do you know how many yards you used? I’d probably be sewing some combo of a 42/44.

    Thanks!!

Nice! We need trenches right now :) I was thinking about digging out the one I plan to make, because it’s a little more fashionable than my big ski coat :P

Yeah, no kidding. I’m just trying not to drown when I step out the door. And that was pretty much my reason for wanting a waterproof trench…hoping to not look like such a hot mess in my rain gear :)
