This is the first Bag I have ever made, a gift to my mum. She travels a lot and I wanted a lightweight but stylish travel bag for her to take as handluggage. Its from a Butterick pattern and I used cream canvas and navy leatherette. It has both a magnetic clip and a velcro fastener. This is the first time I have used leatherette and I found it such a challenge. as it stetched going through the machine!!! There’s probally some obvious technique I don’t know to stop this happening, instead I had to improvise a bit to keep any semblance of sanity, but the finished results look OK (Hope you agree LOL)
Also made a matching camera case, not shown, which attaches to the inside on a leather strap and swivel clip, and a leatherette money, phone wrist case for essentials.
Anyway my mum loved it……….but then she’s duty bound to. Ha Ha
