Can you believe that this pattern only consists of two rectangles? It’s really true. All you add is an elastic waistband…
The final pant shape is similar to harem pants. I actually haven’t made up my mind about harem pants yet, and I haven’t even made up my mind about these Chinese pants either. I consider tthis version here a muslin… wearable maybe, as yoga pants for example, but I am curious whether I could turn this into elegant street pants… What do you think? Do they have potential? I’d love to hear your input!
I have a full pattern/instructions/tutorial of this over on my blog: Of Dreams and Seams I appreciate any input highly!

You are awesome for posting these pictures! I think they work great as yoga pants, but I am not sure how they would work as elegant street pants. Others seem to think they have potential – I tend to be more safe. Definitely interested in what you make next though!

Oooh, thank you so much for that lovely comment – and for being honest about it… I STILL don’t know what to think of it myself. I guess I would have to try it…

Thank you (+blush!). It’s a great compliment coming from you! I know how it is with the list… these were on my list forever before actually trying it.

these definitely have potential! with a different fabric they would be almost like a palazzo pant—with a cute strapless top and some chunky jewelry—viola!

These look great on you! I love my harem pants, but like you did here I always wear them with a tight top otherwise I just look swamped in fabric :-)

The pattern is so simple, and the pans look great. Definitely they have potential!
