I bought the download version of this pattern and my husband and I made 14 of these jackets for his friend’s Bachelor party weekend at the cottage. He cut the fabric and sewed on the adidas-style stripes and I did the rest. I think the effect was great!
I did find the sleeves a little long so I shortened them about an inch, and lengthened the body of the jacket by an inch and a half so that the waistband sat more on the hips than the waist. Also, instead of finishing the collar and then sewing the zipper to the inside of the collar, I left the ends of the collar open so that I could fold the edge over the back of the zipper tape when I attached the zipper so that it would look more finished when the jacket was left unzipped.

What a spectacular project! The gentlemen look handsomely outfitted and how you handled the collar / zipper connection makes for a lovely finished look. Congratulations to you and your husband for creating a wonderful memory for you both as well as the groom and his friends.
