My daughter competitively swims year round, so she wanted some towel pants that she can wear to and from swim practice.
Using 2 beach towels and a pajama pants pattern, you can make one pair of youth sized, pants with enough towel left over to make a matching swim bag/backpack to hold her fins, goggles, and cap. The hem of the pants are one finished edge of the towels, and the drawstring of the swim bag is the other finished edge of the towels. The backpack is sewn with a French seam to hide the raw edges. I also used some extra material to sea a pocket into the bag to store her glasses and hair bands. I used Simplicity 1520 as the basis, but made several changes, and I’ll be publishing a pattern soon.
