A while ago, I was window-shopping in a fancy downtown store when I found two big (European Square size) faux fur pillows in a display. I wanted to hug them right there in the store! They have gorgeous 1940’s glamour yet so cuddly. The only thing I didn’t like was the $155/each price tag. Yuck!
After a quick trip to the fabric store, I now have the pillows without the debt. I altered the design a bit – my pillows close with an envelope flap and not a button like the originals. More comfortable to cuddle up to and much and easier to sew ;) I also added a bright chartreuse satin lining to the envelope flap for a fun pop of color.
No animals were harmed in the making of these pillows. One was made very happy. My kitty Milo loves these pillows!

Love it! it lookslike your kitty does too. I think I want to make something similar for my kitty. the lining is a nice touch. I was thinking about making some pillows and you gave me the great idea of the envelope flap. Thank you. Have a merry New Year!

Thanks! I intended the pillows as something decorative for my home – and they are – they’re great pet beds! Your kitty with thank you if you make one, too
Hope you are having a wonderful 2010!

Glam indeed! I like the lines (stripes? is there a technical word for that?) going down the faux fur. Adds to the texture. Good call on the bright green satin too.
