Description

The top was constructed based on pattern 114 from Burda Style Magazine issue 4/2011.

Like the previous top, it was a challenge from a client. She showed me these genuine vintage maps and asked me if I could think of any tops to make.
Of course, I was restricted by the very small size of the maps, so I had to pick the most “economical” patterns.

I liked the red/burgundy marking son the maps, so I decided to use some burgundy velvet detail and bow and burgundy satin bias binding to finish off the neckline and sleeve openings.

Quite different and an extremely interesting project!

Wow! I’m in love with your map top – it’s super creative, but still completely ‘wearable’! (Sometimes I love the concept of a unique, creative piece, but find that the actual garment overshadows or overwhelms the wearer. NOT here :-)) The burgundy velvet was genius. Gorgeous work, as usual. Thanks for the inspiration!
