This top is based off the Wenlan Blouse, this was my very first intermediate pattern so I was quite nervous and I found the instructions quite hard to follow so I ‘winged it’ quite a bit! I adjusted it quite a bit too but I am pretty happy with the results!
The top is too big on me as I made it for my Sister who is 2 sizes larger than I am so please excuse the way it hangs on me! I decided against the neck tie as I have used raw silk as the main material and it would just be too bulky with it attached. I am also just over 6mths pregnant so my bump effects the shape a little here too. I hope you like what I have done with it, please feel free to comment, any advice is more than welcome.
2.5m of Raw silk and 5m of bias binding

I ADORE the back of this. The neck, the piping, everything. It’s far and away my favourite Wenlan.

Thank you, thinking about making another version of this soon, something lighter for the summer…. I might even keep it for myself this time :D

If I made this for myself, I would do a variation: scoop neck. Very nice.

the piping on the edge is so lovely with that silhouette! this will be wonderful as a fall piece with long sleeves under it as well. i’ve been contemplating something with a high collar and ruffled sleeves lately; thanks for the great inspiration =D

In contrast to the original version I really like your one! Great material choice and I agree that you should think about keeping it, looks good on you!

I think it’s perfect for a maternity top too, maybe you should consider not giving it away… Congratulations on your “bump”! :) Lovely blouse!!

Yes! Your ‘winged’ wenian’ looks great! I like the dark contours and the buttons are a nice touch. Bravo!
