Dumont, New Jers...
Silk ribbon embroidery is making a name for itself. The background can be as simple a denim or as fancy as silk brocade. The point-counterpoint of the materials can make for drama or a softly melded pastel image. Techniques are evolving daily and you should never be afraid to experiment on your own. I usually look at the way a particular flower appears after I have tried a new pattern. If I like it, I practice. If I am not sure it is a good representation I look at how to make a change and bring more life into the petals or leaves.
I have begun to use small projects like those pictured here to modify the patterns I have learned from others. It allows me to try out new ways of twisting or attaching the ribbons.
Plan a weekend getaway in these sweater dresses and furry accessories.
