Burda Style For people who sew
Description
I made this summery, light-hearted dress to attend a friend’s engagement party on a dolphin watching cruise, it wasn’t until one of the crew members called me “Tinkerbell” that I realised that this dress resembles TinkerBell’s green frock!
I loved this fabric when I saw it and just went ahead and bought it without a project in mind. Although the tag stated “2-tone blue and yellow” the colour is closer to lavender or jacaranda. The polka dots are little tufts of mustard-yellow fluff.
The bodice is made using miasu’s Contour Bust Dress tutorial, I added a waistband and waist tie to allow me to tie a bow at the back. The skirt is based on Burda paper pattern #7494 and the whole dress is fully lined. Unfortunately, I didn’t align the skirt lining well and it is visible at the back skirt split at times (see picture 3.) I inserted an invisible zipper centrally.
