This plaid was in my stash for quite sometime as I was unsure as to what to use it for as it measures roughly 1.5 meter. The plaid is suited for the autumn season but I decided to make a shift dress and wear it in the spring time. Hear is my early autumn dress that I am wearing in spring.
The shift dress is from the September 2012 collection. I made a few modifications as the fabric was very limited. I removed the patch pockets, completely lined the bodice and made a cuff for the sleeve. I could not get the 3/4 sleeve and I did not want a cap sleeve, so unfortunately I have to shorten the sleeve at the elbow and added a 3" cuff with a center pleat to add a little style to it. Instead of putting a split on the outside at the front of the cuff I place it underneath to the inside towards the seam.
I tried to capture the little details really hope it can be seen properly. It has a very 60s vibes and I love it.
I wear it to work yesterday and I felt and feel good in it :-). Do you like it?
Take a trip down the aisle in these gorgeous gowns, or change the fabrics for a spring party dress.
