I made this skirt last summer, but have just now photographed it for my daily Self-Stitched September outfit. This skirt comes from a Japanese sewing book called “Sewing Lesson” by Machiko Kayaki. This author makes some of my favorite sewing patterns — pretty, simple, classic, and well-fitting.
I chose the fabric that looks v. similar to the picture in the book, which can be viewed here.
Cotton twill fabric from Vogue Fabrics in Evanston (I used the wrong side of the fabric, b/c I liked it better).
