Ahh the good ole wrap dress, was definitely worth trying on my sewing endeavors. I made this out of non-stretchy material despite the instructions recommending otherwise, but I was dead set on seeing that print on this kind of dress. And it paid off, I was happy with the end result, except that you can’t fully bend your arms for your hands to touch your shoulders, eheheh.
Anyway, I slightly altered this dress so that there’s no separate belt needed and it ties at the side infront on the left, and inside on the right, similar to the ties on NEW LOOK pattern 6637.
Also, working on some photo manipulations involving this dress and other pieces of clothing I’ve made thus far. You can follow the progress on my blog albeit the progress is coming along slowly.

If I saw this in the shop I’d buy it straight away….regardless of whether or not I could bend my arms!

Thanks all, i really do appreciate every single comment. For those interested to creating and owning their own wrap dress (and can’t get the burda 115A pattern) check out ‘Hope wrap dress’ by erdronen, who offers a free pattern to her wrap dress. Also check out ‘teal wrap dress’ by emlj where she has altered the burda 115A pattern to create her own cool version of the dress. In emlj’s photos you’ll also be able to see how the burda dress is suppose to curve up along the hem and folds/pleats at the closures, which you can’t really see in my photos.

You did a great job, and you are right, the print is fabulous for a wrap dress. Too bad you couldn’t find a print like that in a stretch! Still looks great though.

thanks everyone :-) It was quite a while ago that I downloaded the pattern and can’t exactly remember which site. I thought it was from here but can’t find it? Anyway it says on the instructions from burda world of fashion 5/2006, hope that helps.
