I made up Simplicity 1876, one of the new Leanne Marshall designs last week. I used thrifted tie-dye rayon , blind-hemmed, used an invisible zipper (it did go in straight, I was standing curvy). More photos and details in my blog DapperDuds

Yes, just the sides are gathered, with a smooth front and back. The bodice is a basic princess seamed, sweetheart neckline type, you tie the straps around the drape over the bust.

This is tie-dye I can get behind!!! Superb :) Your photos are fantastic, too.
Hhmm… the skirt is suspiciously similar to 1913. I might have a go at drafting the bodice. Does it pull at the neck at all/feel like it’s going to fall off? (PS… sorry for being behind on blog reading!)

It doesn’t pull at all. I pinched out all of the ease and my boobs hold it up for the most part. I didn’t add any of the boning called for in the pattern instructions.
