I got this dress form for Christmas this past year, and this is the first time I drafted anything off of it. I was inspired by a modcloth dress that I saw awhile back.
The fabric used to be a sheet that I bought at the Goodwill for $3, the zipper came from an old hoodie, and I got the binding from a yard sale- so it cost less than $10 to make!
I made the bow belt from a tutorial on the momtastic blog.
thrift store sheet
broad cloth (bodice lining and bow belt)

This is very cute:) I can totally see the ModCloth inspiration, I just look at those dresses and swoon (and realize they would all be WAY TOO SHORT for me haha) but this is adorable! great job:) And I love that it’s a sheet:)

Thank you- I know what you mean about them being short, but I could spend forever looking at them for inspiration.

Thank you! I didn’t use a pattern, just drafted it on my dress form, but I’m flattered that you thought it might be a Vogue pattern! lol

You did a great job on this dress. Especially the detailing on the bust. I love how you made it at such an affordable cost too.
