This is Vogue 1179, a DKNY pattern. It’s extremely easy, definitely a 2 hour dress! Except then I complicated it… I left off the self-fabric neck, added press-studs to the inside of the neckline, and made two alternate collars: one of bias-cut white linen, and the other knitted.
For the knitted collar I followed the fold pattern scarf tutorial here on Burda, using three different weights of yarn, but didn’t fold the chunky weight stripes under. The knitting looked pretty awful until I blocked it, but now I like it :-)
Here in NZ I’m wearing this dress in the spring, but it will also be useful for autumn. I particularly enjoy colour blocking it with long-sleeved tops and tights.

Had you considered a crochet collar as well? (Would look good on that dark fabric.)
