I sewed not just one, but two collared shirts from a 1976 Simplicity 7353 pattern. The extended fronts form the front facings. Although button-down shirts take several hours (more than 6 hours) for me to complete, it is still fairly simple and straightforward to sew. All the cutting layouts and instructions fit on one sheet in a very readable and understandable format. I have been finding that often true with patterns I have worked with from that era. Now it has become one of my favorite shirt patterns.
