I used a vintage McCall’s pattern (6383) from 1978 to make a western shirt for my husband’s Christmas present. The yoke, front bands and cuff are cut on the bias to add visual interest. had a lot of sewing “firsts” with this little shirt. Since this was a gift I really wanted to take my time and do everything right. Flat-felled seams, cuff and sleeve placket, and pearl snaps were all attempted for the first time. I used some soft orange plaid cotton flannel from Joann’s, white piping, and pearl snaps.
