Description

I made this dress in hopes of getting a big job interview. It must be good juju because as I was sewing the armhole facing in, I got the call for the interview. I’ll hear back in a few days but for now, here’s my new lucky dress!
The dress pattern was McCall’s 5637 from 1960.
You can read more about the dress and see lots of pictures on my blog A Few Threads Loose: http://afewthreadsloose.blogspot.com/2012/02/job-interview-dress.html

Material Notes

Carolina Chambray by Robert Kaufman from fabric.com… I love this fabric and bought it in 3 other colors after sewing this dress.

great dress! well done. as a recruiter though, i’d say wear it with a blazer though :) bare shoulders/arms at an interview might not fly everywhere… except maybe retail or techie/startup environments. lol, sorry to intrude and give you unsolicited advice. love the dress though!

I agree with you completely! I want them looking at my resume, not my skin. I wore a suit jacket with it. I just took it off for the pictures. Also, I’m a big fan of unsolicited advice, sometimes that’s what a person needs most!
